Memory of Russia: Monument to Pyotr Bagration is set in Saint-Petersburg

Monument to Prince Pyotr Bagration is open on September 7, 2012 in the east part of the former Semenovsky square (now square on the Marat Street) in Saint-Petersburg, where Life Guards of the Semenovsky regiment, commanded by the hero of the Patriotic War of 1812, was located.

"As promised, the opening ceremony will be held on September 7, at the day of the Battle of Borodino", - said the head of administration of the Admiralteysky District Nikolai Linchenko.

Monument is prepared according to drafts by the author of the project - the sculptor John Neumann. The height of the bronze sculpture is about 4.5 meters. The pedestal is made up of several pieces of red granite, and its total weight is about 30 tons.
