Memorable dates of Russia: Celebrations dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812 are held in the Field of Borodino

September 1-2, 2012 in the Field Borodino is taken place the International Military-Historical festival "Borodino Day". The event at Borodino is organized by the State Borodino War and History Museum and Reserve. In the framework of the military-historical festival the preparation and the reconstruction of the battle is undertaken by the International Military Historical Association.

September 1, 2012 is taken part a rehearsal of ceremonies at the command post in the village of Napoleon Shevardino, as well as a dress rehearsal for the reconstruction of the Borodino battle scenes on the drill theater near the village of Borodino.

September 2, in ceremonies at the monument at the command post in the village of Napoleon Shevardino will take part dignitaries representing France, and Russian officials.

Also, September 2, it will take place the Military-historical reconstruction of episodes of Borodino battle. The scenario is founded on real events that occurred on the field of Borodino on August 26 (September 7) in 1812 from six in the morning to fifteen hours of the day. During the reconstruction will be demonstrated scenes of battle, which took place all over the battle lines of the Russian troops, from the right to the left flank. The brightest pages of battle are elected, where the full extent fortitude, self-sacrifice and heroism of the Russian troops were developed.

In the battle scenes on both sides will feature about 2,000 infantry, 300 cavalry, 400 artillerymen, and 30 artillery pieces. The length of the theater of operations is up to one kilometer.

The reconstruction of the battle scenes will bring together members of military history clubs from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, France, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium, Britain, Canada and the USA.
