Society and Mass Media: The II International conference “Russia and Europe: actual problems of the modern international journalism” in Berlin

The II International Conference "Russia and Europe: actual problems of modern international journalism" is held in Berlin on 30-31 October 2012.

The conference is organized with the support of the Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

A special emphasis in the discussions at the conference is made at a reflection of national interests in international journalism and shaping the international climate through the media. In particular, we consider the most current and global issues: the dialogue of cultures in international journalism, ways for cooperation and interaction media from different countries, united professional and ethical standards for submission of information; international journalism in the national and international legislation, new technological possibilities of the international media, the way of access to information; coverage of terrorism in the international media, the level of confidence in international journalism, working conditions in Europe, the Russian media and other matters related to the subject of the conference.

As part of the questions are provided round tables on the following topics: "The role of the international media in shaping the image of the country: the responsibility and ethics of journalists", "International journalism and analytics with modern intensive information flow: the quality or speed", "Problems of coverage of international conflicts in the Russian and European media: a view from the inside or the outside?", "a regulatory legitimacy of the media: case law or legal?".

In the framework of the conference are scheduled presentations by experts and representatives of leading Russian and European media.
