Information technology and security: “Kaspersky Lab” to protect Runet at the domains level

“Kaspersky Lab” and the Coordination Center of the national domain in the network announce the beginning of cooperation to prevent the spread of viruses in the Russian-language areas of top level domain - .ru and .рф.  The cooperation has a research character and provides two-way sharing of analytical data by hackers in the Internet. Subsequently, on the basis of this information there will be taken actions to block attempts to introduce cyber Runet new viruses or create a botnet network.

“Our cooperation with the Coordination Center of the national domain of the network Internet is quite unique – none of global secure software developers did not make earlier attempts to build interaction on a regular basis with the national domain registrations to deal with cyber-criminals, - says Andrey Yarnikh, head of Internet solutions department of “Kaspersky Lab”. – The analytical and preventive work at the domain level will complicate life and allows attackers to advance their efforts to prevent spread of malicious software, and content in the web. I am confident that with the common efforts together we can make Runet cleaner and safer".

Director of the Coordination Center for TLD RU, Andrey Kolesnikov said: "The Coordination Center is always treated with great attention to security and Internet domain space as a whole. There are already several accredited Coordination Center organizations that cooperate with KC on the fight against cybercrime as centers to respond to detected threats. "Kaspersky Lab" will help us to bring this work to a new level not only to deal with the existing cyber threats, but also to prevent them".
