History and culture: Scientific and practical conference “Novgorod and the Novgorod land. Art and Restoration”

October 23, 2012 at the conference hall of the Museum of Fine Arts in Veliky Novgorod will be open the V Scientific and practical conference “Novgorod and the Novgorod land. Art and Restoration”, which will be attended by scientists from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Vladimir and Cherepovets. This year’s conference is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the architect-restorer, the laureate of State award of the Russian Federation Leonid Yegorovich Krasnorechiev.

In the course of the conference (October 23-25) it is proposed to discuss a range of issues, related to the problems of study, restoration and acquisition of museum of monuments of the Old Russian architecture and wooden architecture, research of folk art.

To the anniversary of L. Y. Krasnorechiev, the employees of the Novgorod Museum Reserve prepared an exhibition "To save and carry the image". The exhibition introduces to the key aspects of the architect-restorer L. Y. Krasnorechiev. It presents 41 drawings in the archives of the Novgorod Scientific and Restoration management, personal documents, items, photographs, paintings and drawings from the family Krasnorechiev and manuscripts, paintings and drawings from the collection of the Novgorod Museum Reserve.

The exhibition will run at the conference hall of the Museum of Fine Arts till November 25, 2012.
