Book edition and book distribution: Russia takes part in the 57th Belgrade Book Fair
Russia's national stand for the sixth time is presented at the Belgrade International Book Fair. The Russian delegation presents the book production of the country's biggest Balkan book forum. The Belgrade International Book Fair celebrates 57 years already; in 2012 it runs from 21 to 28 October.
The initiator of Russia's participation in the fair was the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications. The organizer of the stand "Books of Russia" was the Russian Book Union. On the stand area of 72 square meters are exhibited more than 800 books. The exposition is to show readers and Serbian businessmen the present state of the Russian book market.
The section "Science and Education" in Belgrade presents textbooks for school, grants for students and educational materials for teachers, dictionaries and reference books in the Russian language. Much attention to this part of the exhibition is expected during the thematic "School Day", when the fair is visited with students and teachers from all universities and schools in Serbia.
Two sections of the Russian stand were taken by the Russian edition of Russian culture and history; they are illustrated albums, biography, history books, publications on the life of Russian regions, collection of essays on culture and politics.
One of the unique sides of Russia's participation in the Belgrade book fair is a tradition of gifts to friends and partners. All the books that will be bring to exhibit at the national stand will remain in Serbia. They will be transferred to the libraries of the Russian school, Russian Centre of Science and Culture, University of Belgrade and the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Serbia.
