Russian culture abroad: Week of Russian language and literature in Nice

In Nice, from October 20 till 27, 2012, in the framework of the Year of the Russian language in France is taking place the Week of Russian language and literature. The purpose of the cultural event is to demonstrate to the wide public the diversity and high level of the modern Russian culture.

For Russians, living in the South of France, this week will be another step to preserve and deepen ties with homeland, their language and traditions of the country. The local people will have the opportunity to practice communication in Russia and expand their knowledge for futher professional growth.

During the Week are planned a variety of exhibitions, meetings and workshops including the opening of the monument to Anton Chekhov by Moscow sculptor Gregory Pototsky in the park at the hotel "Oasis", where Russian writer often stayed and even wrote a part of the famous play "Three Sisters".

October 25, the Russian house in Nice with the Association of Finno-Ugric association of France will organize a meeting, acquaintance with the literature of the North.
