Memorable dates of Russia: Festival “The Lyceum cherished day” in Saint-Petersburg

October 19, 1811 is held the opening day of the Imperial Lyceum in Tsarskoye Selo, the educational institution, which taught Alexander Pushkin, Wilhelm Küchelbecker, Jacov Grot, Mikhail Saltykov-Schedrin and many other prominent figures of Russia. In honor of the foundation of the Lyceum, its famous pupils, brilliant pages of the past and with the hope for the future of Russia it was conceived and annually held the International Lyceum Festival “The Tsarskoye Selo Autumn”.

The festival brings together poets, artists, actors, musicians, scientists, scholars, students, representatives of the older and younger generation.

October 19, 2012 is held a ceremony at the monument to A. S. Pushkin in the Lyceum garden as well as in the Museum-Lyceum will be held gala musical-literary evening dedicated to the 201st anniversary of the Imperial Lyceum in Tsarskoye Selo.
