Information technology and libraries: The holdings of periodicals of the Theatrical library are digitized

The Saint-Petersburg State Theatrical Library continued the creation of the electronic collection of theatrical periodicals of the XIX - early XX centuries. This time, specialists of the “Electronic Archive” Corporation digitized issues of the magazines "The Artist" and "Musical and Theatre Bulletin".

The “Electronic Archive” Corporation is collaborating with the Theatrical Library since 2005. As part of the implemented projects there were scanned copies of the magazines "Collection of yearbooks of the Imperial Theatres" and "Repertoire and the Pantheon of the Russian Theater", presented a rare book; it is created more than 50,000 digital images.

The scanning of unique items from the Funds of the State Theatrical Library was produced by the team of specialists the “Electronic Archive” Corporation, "armed" with industrial equipment, directly to the territory of the customer. Thus, rare editions did not leave the walls of the library and were always available to readers and researchers.
