Memory of Russia: Exhibition “The Partisan movement in Slovakia” in Moscow

October 16, 2012 in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow opens an exhibition “The Partisan movement in Slovakia”.

The basis of the exhibition dedicated to the Slovak National Uprising in August 1944 made up photographs, documents and other materials provided by the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising in Banska Bystrica, telling the story of the guerrilla war in Slovakia during World War II. Objects from the collections of the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War: models of weapons, uniforms and military equipment of Slovak partisans, partisan rewards, and works of fine and decorative arts are also presented.

On the same day takes place the round table “The Partisan movement in Slovakia”, which is attended by Director of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War V. I. Zabarovsky, director of the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising Stanislav Michev, leading historians of Russia and Slovakia, veterans of the past war, partisans – participants of the Slovak Movement of Resistance.
