History and culture: Exhibition “The Fomin Dynasty: architects and artists” in Moscow

One of the projects of the Russian State Art Library (RSAL) is exhibitions, dedicated to the renowned creative dynasties. October 15, 2012 in the RSAL in Moscow is open an exhibition “The Fomin Dynasty: architects and artists”. For the library, celebrating this year its 90th anniversary this event is noteworthy for Alexander Alexandrovich Fomin being one the founders of the Theatre Library (now RSAL), the senior citizen of the family.

For the first time the exposition tells not only of individual representatives of the talented family, well known to the general public, but of creative dynasty as a whole. The exhibition includes paintings, watercolors, sketches, details of interior design of pavilions of VSHV (VVC), photographs.

The funds of the exposition, besides sketches and paintings of Valery and Yuri Fomin, present books and albums on the work of Ivan and Igor Fomin, as well as editions, illustrated by Irada Fomina. Here you can see world from the family collections of Fomin as well as from the Moscow Architectural Institute. Archival documents are provided by the General Records Office in Moscow and the research Department of Manuscripts of the Russian State Library.
