Society and Science: The seventh Moscow festival of science is taking place in Moscow

The seventh Moscow Science Festival is held in Moscow in the Intellectual Center – the Fundamental Library of Lomonosov Moscow State University from 12 to 14 October 2012.

The festival is held in the framework of the Second All-Russian Festival of Science, which is held during the year in almost all regions of the country. It is designed for the widest audience. The main objective of this large-scale scientific holiday is to popularize basic knowledge, to educate young people's interest to the research finding, to tell what prospects it opens to the modern man, as well as create new opportunities for growth and development of young scientists. The Moscow Science Festival is the final and most ambitious event of the Second All-Russian Festival of Science. It is expected that its guests will be more than 350 thousand people. The organizers of the festival are the government of the Moscow State University supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

In Moscow there are about 100 sites for the festival. The central platform was the Fundamental Library of the Moscow State University and the Shuvalov Corps University, where the leading experts from various fields of science will give lectures.

Besides, in the framework of the festival there will be interactive activities on popular science topics and there will be on display video presentations of participating organizations.

The central exhibit space of the festival will be located in the "Expocentre", its visitors will learn about the developments in the field of robotics, computer technology, and they will participate in the interactive and multimedia expositions of the festival.
