Russian regions: Exhibition “The Russian Far East of Stolypin era” in Khabarovsk

On September 28, 2012 in the framework of the All-Russian Conference "Stolypin readings. Social policy of the State in the context of the experience of Stolypin reforms" the Khabarovsk Regional Museum after N. I. Grodekov opens new exposition of the "The Russian Far East of Stolypin era".

The main purpose of the exhibition is to show the role of the individual and the importance of Stolypin activity in the history of settlement and development of the Far East, to give a vivid idea of ​​the contribution of Peter Arkadievich to the history of the Russian state and its role in the socio-political and economic transformation of Russia, the value of reforms held in the early XX century on his initiative.

A special section of the exhibition is dedicated to the personality of Stolypin as the initiator of the development of the border regions of the Russian Empire. Materials showing the main reality of his life - the agrarian reform aimed at creating a "strong class of peasant proprietors" and resettlement policies related to the development of eastern regions of the Russian Empire are widely presented.

The exhibition features unique footage of documentary chronicles of the life and work of the Great Russian reformer Pyotr Stolypin and his immigration policy.

The scientific content of the exhibition is based on documents from the regional archives (SJSHC and RGIA DV), the Khabarovsk Regional Museum after N. I. Grodekov, materials of research reference and encyclopedias. The exhibition also presents a unique collection of the museum's collection - household items of settlers, Slavic ethnographic materials. The thematic sections of the exhibition reveal the problems of resettlement, land management of settlers and their economic activities.
