Libraries of Russia: Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference “Central Library of a Region: Challenges of the XXI century” in Irkutsk

November 27-29, 2012 in Irkutsk on the basis of the Irkutsk Regional State Universal Scientific Library of I. I. Molchanov-Sibersky is passing the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "Central Library of a Region: Challenges of the XXI Century", dedicated to the opening of a new building for the users of the library.

The conference is addressed to issues of development of modern regional libraries:

- Library buildings: architecture and design, organization of the library space;

- Informatization of library services;

- Automation of library and bibliographic processes;

- Formation of a barrier-free environment in the service of specific groups of users.

In the framework of the conference there will be held the VIII All-Russian Conference of Services of culture "Modernization of the information-analytical support of culture".

The purpose of the meeting is to identify ways to improve the system of information-analytical support of culture, the formation of its current model to the further development of the methodology and its implementation in the practice of regional services, scientific information on arts and culture.

The discussion includes the following issues:

- Information and analytical work of regional libraries in the context of state policy in the field of culture;

- Assistance in the development of targeted regional, municipal programs in the field of culture;

- Strategy of using information technology in the field of culture;

- Formation of a single information space of culture, integration of information resources in culture and art;

The conference invites leaders and experts of Culture, Library Director, and Head of Communications for Culture and Art, the specialists of public institutions in the cultural sphere.
