Russian language: International Scientific conference to the 200th anniversary of the birth of J. K. Grot in Saint-Petersburg

The National Pushkin Museum and the Institute of Linguistic Studies of the Russian Academy of Science (St. Petersburg) on 26-29 November 2012 hold the International scientific conference devoted to the 200th anniversary of the birth of J. K. Grot.

The conference will review and analyze the reports on new aspects and problems of the study of scientific and creative heritage of Academician of the Imperial Academy of Sciences - Yakov Karlovich Grot, based on the little-known academic and biographical information, new archival data, new analytical finding.

There will be covered such topics as: literary works and ethnographic research of J. K. Grot (for example, J. K. Grot as Finno-Ugric Group Researcher); study of J. K. Grot in traditional Russian language, lexicography and grammar, reviewed the work of J. K. Grot on the publication of the complete works by G. R. Derzhavin, and, in general, presented role of J. K. Grot to create new traditions of Russian philology, and new and little-known facts of life, and scientific activities of the famous scientist.
