Society and reading: VI All-Russian Conference “National Program of Support and Development of Reading: Problems and Prospects” in Moscow

November 23, 2012 in Moscow, under the support of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications, is taking place the VI Russian Conference "National Program of Support and Development of Reading: Problems and Prospects."

It treats of the current problems, achievements and prospects in the field of reading. The conference includes a plenary session and a roundtable discussion on "Social Media vs Reading Room." The event participants will take part in the dialogues in the following subgroups: "Book business and support for reading", "Education and libraries in promoting reading: problems, progress and prospects."

The participants of the conference are representatives of federal ministries and agencies, local administrations of the regions of the Russian Federation, the leading experts of cultural, educational, scientific institutions, specialized and nationwide media, publishing and book-selling organizations, public figures.
