The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

New edition of the Presidential Library - Guidelines for the creation of subject access points in bibliographic and authority records in the electronic catalog of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library (St. Petersburg, 2012) is now available on the web site.

The work presents guidelines for subject indexing of resources and the creation of the authority file of subject headings of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library. The first part of the publication contains a method of development of controlled access points of subject headings in bibliographic records of the electronic catalog of the Presidential Library, the second part - includes a description of the authority file of subject headings of the Presidential Library, the principles and characteristics of its formation and maintenance.

Methodical guidelines are supported by numerous examples of bibliographic and authority records from the electronic catalog of the Presidential Library. There are also notes and comments of catalogers.

The publication was prepared to assist organizations interacting with the Presidential Library in the development of the library’s holdings, specialists of the regional centers of the Presidential Library.
