Society and culture: International Scientific Conference “History of the Russian legal system and the legal culture” in Arkhangelsk

International Scientific Conference “The History of the Russian legal system and legal culture” is held from October 30 to November 1, 2012 at the Legal Institute of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk). The conference is dedicated to the Year of the Russian history.

The purpose of the conference is to publish and discuss the results of the latest research, aimed at the deep study of traditions of the Russian legal system and legal culture of the society. Organizers of the conference deal with a broad representation of the Russian legal system and legal culture, going far beyond the current borders of the Russian Federation. In this regard, scientists who study historical fates of law in the territory of former Russian empire and the USSR, as well as leading legal comparative historical research. 

During the conference it is organized the exhibition of books from the holdings of the University library, which feature the collection of rarities of the XIX – early XX centuries in history of the Russian law and the works of professors of the Law Institute of the NArFU. It is planned the presentation of the Contemporary literature on the historical and legal issues. November 1 the participants of the conference may take part in the celebration of the traditional Day of the Law Institute of the NArFU.
