Enter the world of the Mughals, one of the world's great dynasties, in new major exhibition in the British Library.
At its peak, the Mughal Empire stretched from Kabul in the northwest and covered most of the South Asian subcontinent. This exhibition is the first to document the entire period, from the 16th to the 19th centuries, through more than 200 exquisite objects.
Here, we uncover the lives of the emperors, revealing their lavish courtly life and love of beauty. This exhibition is a visual feast that explores politics as well as Mughal patronage of the arts and sciences, and monuments such as the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort.
