Memory of Russia: Exhibition of archaeological finds “The XVII century. Moscow in Time of Troubles” in Moscow

Exhibition «The XVII century. Moscow in the Time of Troubles", the opening of which is timed to the Day of National Unity and the 400th anniversary of the end of the Time of Troubles, it launched its work on November 1, 2012 in the archaeological complex "Old court yard". All visitors will see unique archaeological finds that were discovered in modern Moscow. Representatives of the Moscow heritage department point out that among the artifacts there are objects of personal piety of the seventeenth century, "language" of the bell, convened citizens to fight the invaders, and many more interesting items.

The composition is based on the weapons of the archers and militia, hats, daggers, armor, battle-axes, maces, and a variety of household items. In addition, visitors can see the iron fork with wooden and bone hilts, sketches which have been found in the diaries of Marina Mniszech, wife of False Dmitry I.

Old plans of Moscow, in particular engraving of L. Kilian, "Sigismund plan" are of illustrative row of the exhibition. Portraits of historical figures such as Patriarch Filaret, Vasily Shúyskiy, Fyodor Godunov, Boris Godunov, Marina Mniszech, Mikhail Romanov, and Mikhail Skopin-Shumsky are also presented.
