History and culture: Exhibition “The Storm of the twelfth year…” The Patriotic War of 1812 in materials of the State Hermitage Museum” in Saint-Petersburg

December 25, 2012 the State Hermitage Museum (Saint-Petersburg) opens an exhibition “The Storm of the twelfth year…” The Patriotic War of 1812 in materials of the State Hermitage”.

In honor of the 200th anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812 the State Hermitage Museum prepared an extensive exhibition, dedicated to the glorious page of the Russian history. The exhibition features battle scenes, drawings and lithographs, portraits of direct participants of the battles, uniforms, weapons and flags of the Russian and French armies, military and jubilee awards, memorial items, reflecting all the important events of the Patriotic War, the history of relations between Russian and France and the allies in the anti-Napoleonic coalition.

The exhibition is supplemented with materials dedicated to preservation of the history of heroism of the Russian people in the Patriotic War of 1812.
