Internet and society: Name registry in the Internet domain zone .РФ has significantly increased

The Internet domain zone .РФ has an increase of name registry from 70% to 76, 5%, said at a press conference at ITAR-TASS Director of the Russian Coordination Center for TLD RU Andrei Kolesnikov.

“By the level of delegation of domains in the zone .RU as always is nice and stable delegated 91% and the domain zone .РФ had an increase from 70% to 76, 5% that is not surprising because the domain is still very young. The main thing is that people are out of status “warehousing of domain names just in case” and they go to the status of domain names which are used for the purposes specifically to address”, - noted Kolesnikov.

He also noted that the status of the domain zone .РФ is far enough from the status zone .RU, for example, the zone .RU has unique content and that is about 46% of domain names and in .РФ in turn only 41%.

Russia takes the first place in Europe in terms of number of Internet users (58, 8 million). The second and the third places take Germany (51, 8million) and France (43, 2 million) respectively. According to polls, the number of Internet users in Russia in 2011 has increased by 10%, and the rates on regions are actively growing.
