Society and Church: The III Winter Orthodox exhibition in Saint-Petersburg

December 19-23, 2012 Saint-Petersburg hosts the III Winter Orthodox exhibition. Its main theme is Orthodoxy in the Crimea. At the exhibition it will be possible to worship the famous Crimean shrines.

The winter orthodox exhibition in Saint-Petersburg will allow visitors to see the exposition, dedicated to the Bakhchisaray Cave Monastery, which tells about the history of the monastery, its revival and life today. The exhibition will dispose the Bakhchisaray (Mariupol) icon of Mother of God and the relics of St. Ignatius of Mariupol.

The exhibition is timed to the release of a regular issue of the magazine “Sobornoye Delo”, which will be distributed among visitors free. It will be like guidebook at the exposition, telling on the submitted shrines.

The exhibition brings together about 150 exhibits including monasteries and temples from regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Montenegro and Greece.
