The A. P. Chekhov Moscow Art Theater on the eve of the 150th anniversary of Konstantin Stanislavsky will launch a project “Heritage of the Art Theatre. E-library”.

Media Library will contain dozens of unique books and performances of the MAT and the Moscow Art Theatre School. The presentation will take place in January 2013. The library will be located at the web site of the theatre and it will be available free to everyone.

According to the rector of the Moscow Art Theatre School Anatoly Smelyansky, the library will present 42 books, 26 of which are great research works. The Media Library will also present the booklets dedicated to the largest theater actors - Iyo Sawin, Vyacheslav Nevinny, Oleg Tabakov and others. "There will be, of course, books by Stanislavsky and books about him – a four-volume chronicle of his life and work, his writings, letters by Nemirovich-Danchenko, the book by Inna Solovyova. Much of this is almost impossible to get", - said Smelyansky.

An extensive section of e-library will be dedicated to video materials - MAT records of performances, broadcasts about the theater and the actors. "There will be a record of all my programs associated with the Art Theatre, films on the theater and its history", - said the rector of the school studio.

Electronic materials about MAT will be available not only in Russia, but all over the world - they will be represented in the collections of the Library of Congress and other international library systems.
