Internet and culture: Presentation of a new electronic resource of the State Hermitage – the web site Hermitage Line is held

December 5, 2012 the Hermitage (St. Petersburg) held presentation of a new online resource Hermitage Line.

The web site should be a space for discussion of the activities and problems of Russian and foreign museums, their role in the life of the country, the city and each individual. Hermitage Line will host materials (texts, photos and videos) about exhibitions and exhibits, creative people and art projects, contemporary architecture and history in its pages. Among them are serious articles, addressed to professionals (museum workers and art critics), and light essays for lovers of fine arts. Short stories for children and about children will take place at the page for children. Analytical texts, funny contests and news are at the first one. Special sections are devoted to restoration projects and archaeological expeditions, guide books, book reviews.

Among the authors of the site are professional journalists with art education and art critics, able to express their views in the language of lovers, linguists and historians, writers and art critics.

The electronic resource Hermitage Line will be bilingual (Russian and English) and (as and when information events) updated. It will be in conjunction with the popular online networks. Subsequently it is planned to prepare a version for tablets and other mobile devices.

The pilot issue Hermitage Line (www.hermitageline.ru), which will be available to customers beginning in February, will place the materials on the exhibition center "Hermitage - Kazan" and recently opened in the building of the General Staff of the "Room of Dmitry Prigov," the history of the Military Gallery of the Winter Palace and poetic stroll through the Hermitage, the perfect poet Oleg Tarutin. A separate page is dedicated to numismatic stories - stories of collectible coins "Tatfondbank" with images of the masterpieces of world art.
