History and culture: Exhibition of old photos from the collection of the I. S. Turgenev Museum Reserve “Spasskoye-Lutovinovo”

December 5, 2012 the F. I. Tyutchev State Memorial History and Literature Museum Reserve "Ovstug" opened an exhibition of ancient photographs from the I. S. Turgenev State Memorial and Natural Museum "Spasskoye-Lutovinovo".

More than 100 professional and amateur photographs taken from the 1850s to the 1920s in different genres - Photo species, interior, landscape, home are presented to the audience.

The exhibition features portraits of I. S. Turgenev, A. K. Tolstoy, A. N. Ostrovsky, Countess E. V. Salias de Tournemire (E. Tur), S. A. and V. V. Lvovy, N. M. Zhemchuzhnikova, M. G. Savina, A. A. Fet and M. P. Botkina, Yasnaya Polyana photos of L. N. Tolstoy; views of Spasskoye Lutovinovo made ​​in September 1883 by the famous Petersburg photographer V. Karik and photographs of the first exposition of the I. S. Turgenev Museum in Orel, amateur pictures, depicting the life of Orel estates in the XIX-XX centuries, views of cities and places associated with the life and work of the writer.

Visitors will be able to see the diaries, notebooks, personal belongings, court life of the men of the local environment of I. S. Turgenev.

The exhibition runs till February 2013.
