History and culture: Exhibition “Russian seasons of Sergei Diaghilev”, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the great impresario, in Moscow

December 5, 2012 the Memorial estate of F. I. Chaliapin (Moscow) opened an exhibition “Russian seasons of Sergei Diaghilev”, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the great impresario.

The exhibition “Russian seasons of Sergei Diaghilev” – is a joint project of the M. I. Glinka All-Russian Museum Association of Musical Culture and a collector, art historian and sponsor, director of the Cultural Foundation “Diaghilev House” Igor Makhaev. I. Makhaev used to be a ballet dancer, he collects materials related to the “Russian seasons” – stands feature all the history in photographs, copies of posters and programs.

The musical and art side of Diaghilev seasons represent exhibits from the collections of VMOMK. Among them are luxury editions of clavier of operas and ballets of Russian composers, autographs and manuscripts, caricatures of brothers S, and N. Legate to participants of repertory, sketches of decorations and costumes of N. Roerich, A. Benois, and F. Chaliapin, K. Somov, F. Chaliapin and K. Korovin. For the first time the rehearsal materials from the S. Diaghilev Library are demonstrated.
