International events: International Forum “Arctic: Today and the Future” in Saint-Petersburg

December 5-9, 2012 Saint-Petersburg hosts the International Forum “Arctic: Today and the Future”.

The Forum continues the Conference “Arctic - The Territory Of Friendship And Cooperation”, which was successfully held in 2011 and it is held under the aegis of the Association of Polar Explorers of the Russian Federation, led by A.N. Chilingarov.

The main objective of the Forum 2012 is to seek and offer solutions for the integrated development management of the Russian Arctic zone.

The business program of the Forum offers to discuss the strategic directions of development of the Arctic zone, including science and polar research, climate and ecology issues, human resources in the Arctic, polar tourism and preservation of cultural and linguistic diversity as well as traditional ways of native population of the Arctic.

As part of the cultural program of the Forum a photo exhibition “The Contemporary View to the Arctic” is presented.
