History of Russia: A decade of Russian history dedicated to the birth of Nikolai Karamzin, in the Ulyanovsk region

From December 1-12, 2012 in the V. I. Lenin Ulyanovsk Regional Scientific Library is passing a decade of Russian history in the Ulyanovsk region.

According to the Resolution of the Governor - Chairman of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region S. Morozov on 28.08.2008 annually on December 12, the Day of Russian history is celebrating in the region. This day is associated with the name of a prominent historian, educator, and the first historian of the Russian State N. M. Karamzin. On the eve of the birthday of historian it is held a decade of Russian history in the Ulyanovsk region.

By tradition, the decade of the Russian history includes an extensive program of events, aimed at the study and propaganda of the history and its prominent representatives.

Key events of the decade will be events, dedicated to N. M. Karamzin: Open day will be held in the Museum “Karamzin Public Library” as well as literary and musical lecture and presentation “In the living room of the Karamzin: “Charm of gone days…” and a lecture-presentation “N. M. Karamzin – Russian writer, historian of the Russian state”, and a public lecture “N. M. Karamzin. Letters to brother”, a round-table “Karamzin – publisher, journalist, publicist”
