Society and culture: Research and Practical conference “I. S. Turgenev – novelist and Russian culture” in the Orel region

From January 30 to February 1, 2013 in the I. S. Turgenev State Memorial and Natural Museum Reserve “Spasskoye-Lutovinovo” (the Orel region) is held the All-Russian Research and Practical conference “I. S. Turgenev – novelist and Russian culture”, dedicated to the 195th anniversary of the birth of the author.

The conference is organized by the I. S. Turgenev Museum Reserve “Spasskoye-Lutovinovo” together with the Department of Russian literature of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.

It is supposed to discuss the following issues:

- Cultural and historical contexts of novels of I. S. Turgenev;

- The poetics of novels of I. S. Turgenev;

- Casual and everyday culture in novels of I. S. Turgenev;

- Novels of I. S. Turgenev and art and musical culture in Russia in the XIX-XX centuries;

- Turgenev novelist and Russian culture at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries;

- New aspects of the science of I. S. Turgenev;

As part of the conference it will be held the round table on the theme “Problems of museum exhibiting of the novel heritage of I. S. Turgenev”.
