Information technology and culture: Project “The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch” on the territory of the Leningrad region to be developed

By 2015 in the Leningrad region will be open 10 new virtual branches of the Russian Museum. It is stated in the agreement, signed between government of the region and the State Russian Museum. This agreement bears the signatures of the governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko and Director of the Museum Vladimir Gusev.

The agreement is about the future creation in the Leningrad region of information-education centers “The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch”. Now the region already has 11 centers - they are located in schools, libraries, cultural centers, educational institutions. Until the end of 2015 in the area will be open 10 more virtual branches. Thus, January 24, 2013 an info-educational center "The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch" is opening in the Computer Center of Information Technologies of Luga. And on February 7, 2013 will be open the information and educational center "The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch" in the intra-settlement A. S. Pushkin district Library in Gatchina.

In addition, under the agreement it is planning to create a new project "The Russian museum on wheels". A special bus will be acquired, which will be provided with modern multimedia equipment. Art bus will travel to remote settlements. Experienced guides and critics will acquaint students with the masterpieces of Russian art and tell them about the history of paintings.
