Russian regions: The XXVII scientific conference “Novgorod and the Novgorod land. History and Archaeology” is held

From 22 to 24 January 2013 in the Novgorod Museum Reserve is held a traditional scientific conference "Novgorod and the Novgorod region. History and archaeology". This year's conference is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the historian and archaeologist M. H. Aleshkovskiy.

The conference is attended by leading specialists of scientific institutions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, Tver, Pskov, Voronezh, and Yekaterinburg. There will be read 50 papers on the results of field research in 2012, problems of history and archeology of Novgorod and the Novgorod region, as well as 8 posters.

The conference will be ended with "Round table". The topic of the conversation is a discussion of archaeological aspects of the project such as giving the historical center of Veliky Novgorod a status of "Remarkable place”. This project is being developed by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
