World libraries: The world’s first library without books to open in the US
In the American state Texas will be open the world’s first library without books. This is reported by the American media. BiblioTech will become the first world’s public library, where ordinary books will be completely replaced by electronic.
The initiator of the project became the local judge Nelson Woolf. According to him, to create an electronic library he was inspired with the reading of a biography of the founder of the corporation “Apple” Steve Jobs.
Firstly, the library will purchase 100 devices for reading electronic books. They can be used as at the reading room, and they can also be taken home for a period. Besides, everyone can come to “BiblioTech” with his own device and upload to it a favorite book.
According to the organizers, the library will be completely free. The only thing that can be charged is - print materials. The first library without books will be open this fall.
