History of a book: International conference “Bibliophily and personal collections” in Moscow

The Second International Conference "Bibliophily and personal collections" is held by the Russian State Library in Moscow on March 22, 2013 in order to present research papers, dedicated to the private collection of old books, their owners and history of Bibliophilia.

Topics for discussion:

- Reconstruction of private libraries of XIX and XX centuries;

- Description of modern book collections, the history of their creation;

- Well-know bibliophiles of the past;

- Personal collections of books in antique antiquarian-commerce;

- The historical context of book collecting in the XIX century - beginning of the XXI centuries;

- Memoirs of bibliophiles, catalogs of personal libraries and bibliophile literature as a historical and bibliographic source;

- - Private collections at the State depositories: little-known pages;

- Foreign collections of Russian books, autographs, “Rossica”, publications with illustrations by Russian artists and their owners;

- Bibliophily organization and their activity.

To participate in the conference are invited owners of private collections of old books, experts from libraries, museums, archives, research institutes, universities, publishers, public organizations, experts of antique business, government and the mass media representatives.
