International events: The opening of the cross Year of Russia and the Netherlands held in April

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov has held negotiations with the Minster for Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands F. Timmermans.

The Ministers stated that Russia and the Netherlands are important partners for each other – the countries have good, trustful dialogue, as well as the all-round cooperation is developing especially in the economic, investment as well as cultural, humanitarian, educational and scientific fields. There is a mutual interest that such exchanges to be continued and enriched.

This year the countries are waiting for the important event in bilateral relations - the Year of Russia in the Netherlands and the Year of the Netherlands in Russia, the official opening of which is scheduled on April 8 in Amsterdam. The ministers discussed the program: it is very rich and it is planned more than 350 different events in Russian and the Netherlands. Sergei Lavrov noted: “I am sure our citizens and citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands will have pleasure from the participation in this important project”.
