Society and Media: The XVI Council of heads of state news agencies of the CIS in Baku

Issues of expansion of cooperation and joint projects are discussed at passing in Baku the XVI Council of heads of state news agencies of the CIS (Informsovet CIS).

It is attended by the heads of news organizations of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

The agenda includes issues of Informsovet of the CIS in the framework of the thematic years on the Commonwealth, the preparation of the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The participants of the Council focus on the interaction of the state news agencies in the framework of the Concept of the presidency of Belarus in the CIS this year, joint projects – the work of the Association of national information news agencies of Commonwealth (ANIA) and the release of Calendar  of important dates and events of the CIS.

Informsovet of the CIS was created in November 1995 to coordinate interaction in the field of information.
