Society and culture: Exhibition “Famous and unknown Karl Bryullov” in Moscow

The exhibition “Famous and unknown Karl Bryullov” opens on February 26, 2013 at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. The project will introduce the public with a drawing of the outstanding Russian artist. Presented works are performed mainly in the late 1830 – early 1830s during his first trip to Italy.

The Moscow public for the first time will see a series “Italian models in the national costumes” from the collection of the Russian Museum and the so called “Italian album”, belonging to the Fund of Art values “Atlanta Art”, which recently has been little known not only to the wide audience, but also to the researchers of the Russian drawings of the first half of the XIX century. It included full-scale studies, sketches of Italian peasants and farmers, monks, musicians.

The works, presented at the exhibition of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts allow having a new look at Bryullov-painter, to “penetrate” to his art laboratory.
