To the Defender of the Fatherland Day: Exhibition “Symbol of valor and honor” in Saratov

February 21, 2013 in the Saratov State Museum of Military Glory opened the new exhibition ‘Symbol of valor and honor”. It presents military service decorations: shoulder straps, buttonholes, breast and arm signs (patches, chevrons); signs on the hats, shoulder straps, buttonholes (badges, emblems, stars).

Unique exhibits presented at the exhibition are daily shoulder straps of 1943 – of General Stepan Trofimovich Gladyshev, commander of the 32nd Infantry Division; field and front straps of participants of the Great Patriotic War, the captain of medical service Anna Alexandrovna Shalomenko, ceremonial insignia sewn to tunic of lieutenant of infantry troops Nicholas Emelyanovich Nechayev, shoulder straps of top sergeant of the Saratov Suvorov Military School of Alexander Polubartsev.

The exhibition presents the insignia of the military and the political composition of the Red Army, casual, smart, field straps of officers, warrant officers, cadets and military personnel serving above the Soviet Army and Navy, as well as patches and pictures that give an idea of ​​the use of military reinforcement in uniform.
