Russian regions: The Year of Culture launched in Tambov

February 18, 2013 the Year of Culture is launched in Tambov. The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

- I think it is a great initiative. I am impressed by innovative original projects in the field of culture and education which today are successfully implemented, - the Minister said.

Valdimir Medinsky also visited several monuments and museums of the Tambov region and discussed with the head of the region Oleg Betin the problems of further development of the regional system of cultural institutions, museum and archives. The minister noted that Tambov has a successful experience of preservation of the cultural heritage objects.
