Russian culture abroad: Exhibition of masterpieces of the Russian art “Silver age” in Lithuania

In Vilnius (Lithuania) in the Radziwill Palace opened the exhibition “Silver Age”. It presents masterpieces of Russian fine art in the late XIX - early XX century - Konstantin Korovin, Nicholas Roerich, Alexander Benois, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Marc Chagall, Mikhail Vrubel and other masters.

The basis of the exhibition includes works from the collections of the Baltic museums, including more than 130 paintings from the National Art Museum, which holds the largest collection of Russian art in the Baltic countries.

- The exhibition is called “Silver Age”. At this time in Russia from the stagnation of academic were born new creativity, new movements, and it was a revival of Russian art. The exhibition includes museums of Latvia and Estonia, and Lithuania in the exhibition is represented by the Art Museum and the Mikalojus Čiurlionis Museum, - said the director of the Lithuanian Art Museum Romualdas Budrys.
