History and culture: Presentation of the catalogue “German cultural heritage in Siberia” in Novosibirsk

On February 14, 2013 in the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library holds the presentation of the first issue of the catalogue of books from the collection of Kolyvano-Voskresenskiye mining plants – the largest library of Siberia of the XVIII century.

The Department of valuable and rare books of the NSRSL contains the largest part of book collection of Kolyvano-Voskresenskye mining plants. Of 7500 books, included in this collection, 2300 copies are books of Gothic type of the XVIII-XIX centuries, published in German on its territory and abroad. A large number of German publications in this collection indicate a significant contribution of German specialists to the development of geology, mining and metallurgy in Russia, including Altai. 

The publication of the Catalogue is implemented in the framework of the International project “German cultural heritage in Siberia”, which main purpose is to initiate the research and public interest to the German part of the described collection by gradually providing information on its composition.

The first issue of the Catalogue “German cultural heritage in Siberia: German publication of the XVIII-XIX centuries from the collection of Kolyvano-Voskresenskiye mining plants” – a significant event in the research and cultural life not only of Russian scientists, but also their international colleagues”.
