Memory of Russia: Events, dedicated to the 91st anniversary of the Battle of Volochayevka, in Birobidzhan

February 12, 2013 the Birobidzhan Regional Center of the Access to the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library resources in the walls of the Museum of battle and labor glory EAO held the memorial evening, dedicated to the 91st anniversary of the battle near Volochayevka.

Birobidzhan regional center’s specialists told about the events preceding the “Volochaevskiye days”, the progress and outcome of the battle, about the participants of the two opposing sides. In electronic presentation there were shown unique documentary materials of 20-30s of the last century: photographs, posters, orders, and licenses of partisans which remained in the territory of Jewish autonomy.

The significance of the battle of Volochaevska was told by veterans of the Great Patriotic War V. N. Chigrin. Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans V. A. Gubchik noted that information about this important fact in the history of the area was very small, and therefore the information and documents that were presented to them at evening, are of particular interest and are very valuable.

The museum of battle and labor glory EAO features exposition, also dedicated to the events of February 1922 in the territory of Jewish Autonomous Region.
