The exhibition of newspapers titled “History in the form of news” opened on February 12, 2013 in the Palace of Nations, where the headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva is located.

The exposition includes about 110 front pages from around the world reporting on the most important events from the end of the XIX century.

All the leading articles are divided into five sections: “crises”, “conflicts”, “landmarks”, “achievements”, “people”, and they are part of the collection of the former Spanish journalist Giuseppe Bosca, who worked 25 years in the news agency of the country, EFE.

The main purpose of the exhibition, according to Bosca is to demonstrate how important publications in the past were - because in order to learn about the event, you had to go to the newsstand.

In his turn, President of the Association of journalists accredited to the UN, Gunilla von Hull stressed that the task of the exhibition she saw in that “to show how significant is the work of journalists, both today and a hundred years ago”. The second point is to draw attention to the fate of print media.
