World culture: Exhibition “Marc Chagall. Biblical stories” in the Chelyabinsk region

4 February 2013 in Magnitogorsk (the Chelyabinsk region), in the picture galley opens the exhibition “Marc Chagall. Biblical stories”. The exposition presents one of the most significant series of graphic series of famous artist – his illustrations to the Bible and it is dedicated to the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Marc Chagall.

The exhibition is not for the first year is traveling through the country, it traveled in largest cities of the country – Moscow, Volgograd, Saratov, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad and others. In the museum collections of Russia the works of Chagall of this graphic series are not presented, so the series is little-known for a wide range of audience that allows calling the project unique.

Each of the 76 lithographs, featured at the exhibition, is an original interpretation of the bible texts, their deep understanding by the artist, penetration to the essence of the human nature and human relationships.
