Society and culture: Exhibition of studies “The world on the tip of the brush” as part of the Cultural Olympiad program “Sochi 2014” in Novgorod

In the exhibition halls of the Museum of Art of the Novgorod land as part of the Cultural Olympiad “Sochi 2014” on January 31, 2013 opened the exhibition “World on the tip of the brush”.

The exhibition “The world on the tip of the brush” is the first in the State Museum of Art of the Novgorod Land event as part of the program of the Cultural Olympiad “Sochi 2014” - a unique project of organizers of the Games in 2014. The concept of the world has many meanings, in the title of the exhibition the word “world” is the key word:

WORLD – as an object of art.

WORLD – as historical and geographical concept.

WORLD – open space for everybody.

WORLD – it is US – our families, friends, our city.

The exhibition is attended by famous artists and beginners, students of the Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod University and amateurs. The exhibition runs “Creative Workshop” for everybody who is interested to take up the brush, pencil and paints.

The Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad is a unique project from the organizers of the first ever Winter Olympic Games to be held in Russia. It is a presentation of the country's finest cultural events. The mission of the Cultural Olympiad “Sochi 2014” is to preserve and enhance the unique cultural wealth of Russia, to involve every citizen in a grand celebration and presented in 2014 the best games. 2013 is the year of Museums, the program of the Museum of the Year will include an online exhibition of paintings, virtual tours of museums in Russia, art tours in Sochi and a lot of bright near museum events across the country.
