Information technology and society: A single web site for owners of universal e-cards to be launched in summer

A single web site through which it will be possible to get services with the help of universal e-card (UEC) will be launched in summer. This was announced by the President of “UEC” Alexei Popov at the All-Russian conference “The role of Russian banks in the development of the project UEC and the national payment system”.

“The first phase of the UEC web site will be launched in late spring - early summer”, - said Popov, explaining that at this web-site will be combined services of citizens' identification as well as payment services. “It is an interface where a person has a “personal account” in which he is identified and is unable to sign a digital signature (EDS)”, - said the head of the “UEC”.

The mass distribution of universal e-cards in Russia on petitions began on 1 January this year. The UEC is stored on the basic personal data of the citizen, and the number of pension and mandatory health insurance, qualified digital signatures. In addition, the chip can record additional applications: transportation, medical and so on. The UEC is also a universal payment instrument.
