To the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty: Exhibition “Great sons of Russia in the era of the Romanovs” in Cheboksary

The exhibition of portraits of cultural and scientific workers of the time of the Romanovs “The great sons of Russia in the era of the Romanovs” opened in Cheboksary.

The exhibition features portraits of royalty – Alexei Mikhailovich, the successor of Mikhail Romanov, and Nicholas II, the last Russian monarch, as well as historical and battle works, showing important events of internal transformations of the country and international relations.

At the opening the exhibition it was marked the historical connection of Chuvashia to the Romanov dynasty. In Cheboksary was reposed the grandmother of the first representative of the ruling dynasty Mikhail Romanov and one of the cities of the country - the Mariinsky Posad – is named after the wife of Alexander II Maria Alexandrovna, whose portrait can be seen at the exhibition.
