
Society and reading: The week of children’s and youth’s book in Moscow to be dedicated to Sergei Mikhalkov
The week of children’s and youth’s book is held in the Russian State Children's Library in Moscow from March 23-30, 2013, devoted to the work and life of the poet Sergei Mikhalkov, the 100th anniversary of the birth of whom is recently celebrated in the country, said Deputy Director for Library Services Natalia Arakcheeva.
“The purpose of the annual Children's Book Week, which came up with Leo Kassil 70 years ago – is to attract children to read, introduce new books, authors: schools, kindergartens come to our events, - explained N. Arakcheeva.
The week in RSCL is built so that each day a new publishing house will be presented, and the most are not limited to just the presentation of new products. The program includes master classes, screenings of filmstrips, movies, quizzes and presentations.
