Information technology and science: A single database on defended dissertations to appear in Russia

A single information system, containing data on protected dissertations, will appear in Russia. The relevant draft law is available at the web site of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. 

In the Ministry they said that now the draft is in “negotiation of state bodies and organizations”.

The system will be created “in order to provide information of state system of attestation of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers”.

The database, in particular, will host information of defense of dissertation, abstracts of defended and  presented to the thesis of defense, the data on persons with academic degrees and academic titles, as well as the number and date of issue of diplomas or degree certificates of academic status.

All the information will be freely available to the public.
