Russian culture abroad: The Nicolay Gogol Cultural center opened in Rome

The Nicolay Gogol Cultural center opened in Rome. It is housed in an apartment on the street Sistina, where Russian classic lived and worked on “Dead Souls”, “Greatcoat” and “Taras Bulba”.

The opening ceremony took place on March 20, 2013, on the birthday of the Great Russian writer (old style).

The initiative to create the center belongs to the Directorate of the International Association “Award of N. V. Gogol in Italy”. “We hope that this living-room will promote the development of Slavic-European cultural dialogue”, - said director of the Association Natalia Solodilina.

The Nicolay Gogol Cultural Center is planned to hold poetry readings, musical and literary events, art exhibitions with the participation of artists from different countries.
